Abstract

Based on the Global Wind Atlas an assessment of the wind resources of the Black and Azov seas was completed. The distribution of wind power density in the Black and Azov Seas is defined, as well as to identify areas with the most favorable conditions for the placement of offshore wind turbines. Most of the Black and Azov Seas are characterized by significant wind resources (value of wind power density > 400 W/m2). The total area of sites with favorable conditions for the placement of offshore wind turbines is about 98500 km2.
